Salt Lake City Adventures 2025
We packed up the camper and headed for Salt Lake City, with Brian set for three days of tax classes and the rest of us ready for a little exploring. Lucky for us, my cousin Stephanie was living in the area at the same time, so she became our tour guide and partner-in-adventure for the week.

We kicked things off with some school shopping at the Outlets at Traverse Mountain—because you can never pass up a good back-to-school bargain. Then it was time to get our wizard on at Harry Potter™: The Exhibition. We stepped into the magical world of Hogwarts, where we saw the Sorting Hat, admired movie costumes, shot a few rounds of Quidditch, and even traveled by portkey.

Another day brought us to Ashton Gardens, which had gone prehistoric with life-size dinosaurs tucked among the flowers. From there, we fluttered into the Butterfly Biosphere, making friends with a few delicate, colorful visitors. We also got hands-on at the Museum of Natural Curiosity and explored the wonders of space at the Clark Planetarium.

On our last day in the Salt Lake area, Brian was finally done with classes, so we all enjoyed a lake day with Stephanie. After the lake, we cleaned up a bit and tossed Stephanie our camera for a down and dirty family photo shoot. We ended the trip in the best way possible—with a delicious and authentic Southern meal cooked by Christopher: ribs, greens, beans, and homemade fries.
It was such a treat to spend time with Stephanie and Christopher, soaking in both the sights and the flavors of Salt Lake City. Between the adventures, the laughter, and the great company, it was a trip well worth remembering.
