Track Season Spring 2022
After taking in our first year of Middle School Track at RCCS and our first Grade School Track day at Calvary, we have calculated that we potentially have 11 more years of track practices and meets in front of us, and oh how I hope to capture them all. It was such a joy to see Ellie and Jackson doing something they love — running. I don’t like to question why they love it, I am just glad they do.
Ellie really found her happy place. For her the love of the social aspect of track by far out weighed the pains of getting in shape for running. Jackson was also glad to be part of something as he participated in his first school lead track day.
I’ve got this internal mom feeling that track will be around for a while and as I sit with this thought I feel the best way to document these seasons of speed would be all in one post a year. So below you will see the events listed with a few photos from their meets as they go in order for each season, and then a video of the races we catch and an album at the end with all photos from all meets. (*Note to self: keep track of race times – it’d be fun to see how they improve over the years.)
On your marks…..

And if my Mom radar is off, and this is our first and only season of track, we truly enjoyed watching them race. We are so blessed to have two healthy kiddos who can run and have fun with friends. Over all Ellie improved her times. She is only in 6th Grade this year running in the middle of the pack of an average of 50 girls each meet, most of them 7th Graders. If she sticks with it she has potential to live up to her family nick name of “Crazy Legs”! And Jackson, well, he’s just fun to watch run stiff down the track. He was practicing his starts at Ellie’s meets and is looking forward to summer running club again.
