Christmas 2021
The hustle and bustle of the holidays seemed to be a bit more normal this year which felt wonderful. We knew that we were due for the large Bickett gathering in Upton this year so we snuck in a Round About in Gillette a few days prior. As always is was great to see all of our family and we are thankful we live close enough to make that happen.
What Hand Made Gifts Look Like
Grandma Robin charged us last year this time with the task of giving handmade gifts this year. We took that to heart and got started right away in January with the idea of Ellie painting a small canvas for each month that her grandmas could change out as the year goes on. Since we were in home school, this was a great activity to pass a “art class” but once we got started back in school, it became a little bit more difficult to get the paintings done. But she pulled through and finished not just one set, but three sets of paintings for all three grandmas! We enjoyed receiving the thoughtful handmade gifts from them as well.
Christmas Tacos Tradition
It was really fun to find a night to have tacos again at Grandma Nancy’s. It was sad and unfortunate that Grandpa Jamie was called to be with his mom in Arizona. I am glad he was with her but I did miss our time around the puzzle table. It never feels like enough time but we were happy to share some genuine hugs and laughs with everyone in Gillette.
Just Between Us
Part of the joy for me for Christmas giving is letting the kids have a chance to pick gifts for each other and Brian. They come up with great ideas and it is always fun to see their excitement from what they picked each other.
All The Holiday Things in Upton
It was fantastic to hear that everyone was going to be in Upton again this year. We even had a little bit of snow to take in Parks Hill a few times.
More Holiday Shots
I know it is not something that we can do every year but it was fun thinking and praying for everyone as I made gifts for them this year. I hope that some of this tradition takes hold in our household…as long as we start early enough!
