Big Camp Utah 2019

SIX – yes, six National Parks (Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capital Reef, Grand Canyon North Rim, Arches and Canyonlands) were visited when we hit the road for our BIG Camp Utah. We spent ten days driving and hiking, and driving and hiking some more, to make it happen. We are pleased to have fully experienced the magnitude of  God’s power in all of the beautiful red rocks and canyons.

We made it!
The beautiful colors of Bryce Canyon
Taking a rest in the bottom of Bryce Canyon
Hiking and cooling off in the slot wall canyons.
Lovin’ on a Dottie Dog
Not certain you can call this love?
At the entrance to Zion
Cooling off on a hike in Zion
Check another one off the list. Made it to Capitol Reef
Rock Dog!
Dottie found a new love of digging in the canyons
Cooling off in southern Utah
We dropped down in to Arizona and finally made it to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon
This canyon will always have a place in our heart.
Taking in the views and smiling the whole way
Smoke from a nearby fire north of the Grand Canyon makes for an eerie sight
Traveling through Monument Valley on our way to Moab
Drove past the Mexican Hat
We endured 100+ degrees to make it through Arches
What a site to hike up to! At THE Arch in Arches.
Last but not least, Canyonlands
Hiking up the side of the ridge
Taking in the views from the top

I am not quite certain how we got on to planning a trip down through Utah, but I sure am glad we did! Utah is the home of FIVE National Parks and we made certain to spend some time in all of them — plus one extra! Even though it was quite a long trip and it felt like we were always going somewhere or seeing something, it was such a relaxing vacation to get away and take in God’s beauty.

For future reference — the Moab Diner has an awesome cup of green chili. Its even better than ordering ice cream!
