First Day of PreSchool

Finally — Today is the day!
This Goofball is so ready to for preschool.
His new Lightning McQueen blanket for nap time at preschool.
And he is off on his next great adventure.

Today is the first day of Jackson’s next great adventure — PreSchool. He couldn’t have been more ready and has been talking about it since February like a second year student. Today is also our very last first day of preschool as parents. For us this is it. Of course there will be a second year of preschool, maybe a third if we can convince Jackson to hold out for kindergarten, but this is a last first time we send him out in the world.

We were much more prepared this time around. We have Ellie’s two years at St. Paul’s to thank for that. We knew we needed to practice going potty and washing hands, what to pack and even I even made sure Jackson had a new quilt to cuddle during nap time.

What has hit a little harder this time was the turn around and walk out the door, leaving him behind part. Both Ellie and Jackson were gifted with a social butterfly and curious types of personalities, so there has never been any kicking or screaming when we leave. Instead they they say goodbye, turn around and go.

I told Brian that sending them to college isn’t going to be any fun. He assured me that we still have a few years to go. Until then, we will send them on their first days, remind them to do their best and have fun and then wait in a quiet house until we can hear all about their day.

When Brother is Away, the Girls go out to Play

Ellie was happy to go back to her preschool and say hi to a few of her teachers. But since the public schools don’t start until tomorrow, it was a perfect opportunity for a girls day.

We tried on some boots.
We found a new dress for the first day of school tomorrow.
And had lunch with our good friend, Michelle.
