Halloween 2016

We had a ton of inspiration for this years costumes since Ellie was in gymnastics and she wants nothing else to be but a gymnast, and it was also an Olympic year, giving us plenty of options for Jackson. So, as usual, when Ellie said she wanted to be an Olympic gymnast, we went all out with the costumes again this year and turned Jackson into Michael Phelps.

I am so glad that I know how to sew and have friends that could point me to the perfect pattern for the USA coats. Then all we had to do was fashion a couple gold medals and a MP swim cap, throw some neon yellow paint on some canvas shoes, toss in some navy pants and goggles, and these two were podium ready. What you don’t see much of is the rest of the costumes under the coats and pants. They were completly sport ready with a red, white and blue leotard we found at the store and USA swim shorts I made out of toddler pants. The cool part is that we plan to keep using the leotard and coat for gymnastics this winter.

You’ll see in the video below that Ellie loved to do her kart-wheels and Jackson practiced his starting block techniques. Both loved getting around the block and then eating candy after.

Pumpkin Carving

It was so fun gathering with the Baker’s again this year to eat pizza and get our hands ooooey and goooey. This time Sam got past his fear of the pumpkin slim and completly carved his pumpkin all on his own. We are sure glad that we have been able to keep this annual tradition.
