Two New Things

It was fun to see our kiddos branch out this summer and try some new things.

Gymnastics

Ellie has long wanted to be in gymnastics so when an invitation to go came up, we decided to enroll her for the summer session. It didn’t take long before she was cart-wheeling all over the place. She was one happy girl when the Awards Ceremony at the end of summer came around. She even claimed proudly that she liked gymnastics more than she liked swimming.

BMX Bike Racing

And Jackson has been speeding along on his Stryder bike for quite a while now so it seemed fitting that we seek out some Stryder races. We heard that the local BMX track offered Stryder races for the younger kids so we loaded up and gave it a try. He was so excited to ride on the track that he didn’t understand that he had to wait for his heat, which was upsetting to him. But once he was in the starting block he was ready to roll. We also hit the other bike dirt tracks in town and just let him roll up and down the hills.

And then just like that, summer came to an end and so did the activities. Ellie has been begging to go back but we decided to take a little break and squeak in a round of swimming lessons for the both of them.  We are extremely blessed with two healthy and active kiddos — now if they would just slow down a bit.
