First Day of Kindergarten

Today is the day that Ellie started Kindergarten and we couldn’t be more proud of her. Of course we did our homework and prepared ourselves with practice rounds of using her new lunch box and finding our drop-off and pick-up spots at school, not to mention sharpened two dozen pencils — she is more than ready.

Her parents — I guess we’re ready too. This is the first summer that officially has an end for us, which is an adjustment to our end of camping routine. We both took her this morning and stood on the playground as she ran off to play. She had already made a new friend in line just after the bell rang and we hardly got a last minute hug in. Then just like that, she headed for the doors, without even a glance back.

She is well on her way to being great and today was just the next step.
