Halloween 2014
This year was another great Halloween. Ellie of course originally wanted to be Elsa from Frozen, just like every other little girl. With just a little convincing she settled on being a cheerleader. She had watched an episode of Sesame Street about cheerleaders and she was jumping around the house saying “cheer-a-leader” ever since. I think she could be a really good cheerleader in the future. And it worked out great that a friend of mine had an extra cheerleader outfit that we could have.
Once we decided on a cheerleader for Ellie I had to use my thinking brain (as Ellie would say) to come up with something cleaver for Jackson that might go along. Since we were going to be at a school carnival I figured he would be in the front carrier so I found this ‘giant bag of popcorn’ idea on Pinterest thinking I could go as a #1 FAN. Which left us down to Brian who was willing to toss on a ref shirt to pull it all together. Turns out that we took first place for the family costume division at the St. Paul’s School Harvest Festival.
Bring on the Pumpkins
The Baker’s were over again for another year of carving pumpkins. Somehow the pumpkin count keeps going up. The kiddos had fun picking the seeds and guts out and then were off playing swords with Sam and Adam’s light sabers. We topped the night off with some candy bar topped chocolate silk pie. The big question was if we would continue this tradition once all of the kids were off on their own. I sure hope so, because then maybe we could have sword fights with the light sabers.
