Memorial Camp 2014
It seems we always have to prepare for a rainy weekend when it comes to our first camp with the family but this year we were blessed with more sunshine and warmth than the sprinkles as we were welcomed with open arms to Sally’s little nugget in the hills, tucked back behind Nemo, SD, that she loves to call Thomasville.
Of course we couldn’t plan an Evenson camping trip if we didn’t invite all of these guys (and more — note to self: take the group shot a day earlier before people start leaving). And somehow, whether invited or not, the mysterious mustaches made their appearance AND the other side of the family always seems to show up too.
It was a wonderful weekend, as always, spent around camp making and sharing memories. This year we enjoyed parking campers, moving cars, camp fires with s’mores, fixing heaters and awnings, a bouncy horse, great food, a game of horse shoes and golf, wood whittling, running and hiking, creek fishing, homework uploading, some napping, mustaches, a first anniversary, staying up late and getting up early, a little bike riding, digging for worms, going to Wally World and sitting under an umbrella, more food and even some cupcakes.
A huge THANK YOU to Sally for inviting us to her cabin. It was a wonderful spot to gather with family and friends. I hope we will be invited back in the future.
