Tea at 33

As January rolls around every year I often think about how to treat myself for my birthday. This year, I just wanted to eat really good cake with out wanting to make it a big Cinderella party – I just didn’t want to eat all of the cake by myself. So I decided my friends needed to come over and help and thought, ‘How can I gather my friends, who are all very busy too, for an hour or two of cupcakes and conversation, with out telling them it is a birthday party?’
Since they all have kiddos who enjoy visiting Ellie and also love to eat cupcakes, I decided to help Ellie plan a tea party for her friends and their mothers. Nothing big, just cupcakes and tea. All of the little ones played together well while the moms tackled a melted crayon wall hanging craft and were able to catch up.

I am sure it was a little presumptuous of myself, but the cupcakes were delicious AND I didn’t have to eat them all. But what it really comes down to is that I am so thankful to have these ladies in my life and I truly look forward to growing up (not old) with them.
