Ellie’s Fabulous First Birthday
What can we say other then it was a FABULOUS day!
The party decorating started the night before with the help of Dusty, who was fishing line pro that hung the balloons, and Kate, who was the frosting pro that shared her delicious secret frosting recipe and decorating skills for the jumbo cupcakes.
The house was full of friends and family to help us celebrate this milestone. It was even hot enough to break out the slip-n-slide which might just have to be a birthday tradition.
Ellie was lost in her mound of gifts that quickly turned to piles of paper and toys. She didn’t get as messy with her cupcake as we thought she would and finished by eating the frosting with her new silver spoon. By the end, she was still sticky enough to require a bath.
Once the party was over and all the guests had left, she crashed in her crib for a good nap.
Below are some great pictures taken by Aunt Jess to help us remember the day!

We cut down the balloons, and on the morning of her birthday she woke to a pile of balloons that she loved to play in. She also got cupcake for breakfast, took cupcakes to daycare, went out to dinner and finished her first birthday with ice cream before bed. We couldn’t think of a better way to spend a birthday!
